Only in Small town Tennessee
Jordan is in baseball. The team he is on is a small town team and everyone knows everyone. Well, except us since we are newbies to the area. Funny thing is they knew where we lived though! I was listening to the parents as they rooted for their kids playing ball. The names I heard being shouted out consisted of Buck, Tadpole and Wheel (okay, so the kids name was "Will" but with the deep tennessee southern accent it was pronounced "Wheeeel"). So yes, I kid you not. There was a boy named "Tadpole" on his team. Now I'm not 100% sure that was his given name but it was the name printed on the back of his baseball jersey and it's what everyone called him. I wish I could put on here how it actually sounded when they said his name. It was something like this-- Taaad po. If you could imagine saying that with a deep southern accent. Buck, not that most strangest name. But I still found it rather "Country". They have even changed Jordan's name into something more "country". Jo-dan. That is kinda how they pronounce it. Just say it like that but add some "country" to it! Oh and this picture is of Jordan after his game. He got the "game" ball! He was SUPER proud! He plays 1st base and got all the outs for his team and his team won! Way to go Jordan!
